WHOLESALE CONNECT: How to digitally approach the channel with multi-brand stores

On October 6, we held Wholesale Connect in Madrid, an event aimed at the fashion industry's wholesale channel.

And we can say it was a resounding success!

It was a success both in terms of the quality of the presentations and panel discussions and the engagement of the attendees, who paid close attention and asked a long list of questions based on what they had heard.

Our goal was to organize a session focused on real-life situations, practical solutions, and tangible results applicable to the industry. And that is exactly how we designed it.

What are the key takeaways?

Shopify and its commitment to B2B

Louise Garrigos, Head of B2B Sales EMEA at Shopify, focused her presentation on a key topic: user experience, highlighting:

  • The gap that still exists between D2C and B2B.

  • Shopify's strategy to improve the B2B experience

  • The importance of bridging the gap between the platform and the industry's business intelligence.

How to digitally approach the multi-brand store channel.

Gonzalo Casado, CEO of Upango, analyzed the behavior of multi-brand stores and the key factors for implementing a digital transformation strategy for their sales processes.

Four key areas to focus on stand out.

1.      The sales representative: connects the brand and the multi-brand store. They need digital tools that give them access to their customer portfolio and product catalog.

2.      The customer, always connected: they place orders without having to speak to a sales representative, have access to their order history, and maintain a permanent open channel with the brand.

3.      Automated processes and operations: integration of the catalog, ERP, CRM, and logistics with the online store.

4.      Business intelligence and AI assistants to make sales and marketing decisions based on real behavior.

Case Study. Ecoalf Wholesale with Shopify

Mauro Álvarez, IT Director at ECOALF, and Marcos Pérez, Sales Director at ECOALF, shared their experience with the digitalization of their wholesale channel, highlighting the need for a well-structured and clearly defined business foundation before starting the transformation process.

The result:

·       Cost savings by freeing up administrative staff.

·       Customer self-management, freeing up the sales representative.

·       Sales representative better informed about the status of their portfolio.

Manel Sellés, Partner & Chief Technology Officer at Reskyt, citing striking data such as the fact that 85% of users prefer apps over mobile websites, confirmed the need to keep the buyer always connected through a dedicated eCommerce app.

To close the session, it was time for questions, and some very interesting ones were asked, helping to reinforce and complement all the information previously shared.

And although the rain forced us to hold the dinner in a reserved area of the hotel, we still enjoyed the covered terrace with unbeatable views of Madrid during the subsequent cocktail reception.

Thank you to all the collaborators, speakers, and attendees. And thank you to the Upango team for their impeccable organization.
