Shopify has launched its Winter 2026 edition, known as Renaissance Edition, with over 150 improvements, where AI is the central axis for optimizing your eCommerce. In addition, this new edition reinforces its commitment to omnichannel, offering alternatives to easily integrate physical store transactions with online channels.
Some of the most notable improvements:
1. Sidekick is no longer just an assistant, but an intelligent collaborator:
- Sidekick Pulse: analyzes market trends and your store's data to suggest personalized strategic actions.
- Generation of customized apps with a simple instruction indicating the specific needs of the store.
- Workflow automation: Describe the flow you want to automate, and Sidekick will create it through Shopify Flow.
- Advanced analytics and segmentation: generate custom reports with ShopifyQL.
- Modify your theme, images, and emails directly from the platform.
- Save repetitive instructions as Skills, reusable for greater agility.
2. Agentic Storefronts, selling in conversations
With this feature, soon to be available, your products will be integrated into conversational AI platforms, allowing users to make purchases directly.
Available for ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot.
· Set up how you want products to be displayed just once.
· No complex integrations needed.
· Visibility on the platform where the brand appears and control over sales coming from AI chats.
3. SimGym: an AI-powered shopper simulation tool that allows you to test storefront ideas, compare themes, and preview customer behavior before launch. A safe way to make changes.
4. Rollouts: Allows A/B testing before making strategic changes. This feature seems especially useful if massive or strategic changes are desired.
5. A step further in unified commerce
POS Hub, a hardware component that connects all store devices – readers, printers, scanners – and integrates them with Shopify POS, keeping commercial information from all channels in a single control point.
6. What about B2B?
Shopify reinforces its commitment to this segment by improving some functionalities:
- Issuance of in-store credit to different customer branches.
- Definition of specific payment terms per customer.
- In-store pickup option.
- Establish order review rules according to specific customer conditions.
- Creation of public price lists that allow import by customers.
- Synchronization of EDI purchase orders and Shopify.
These are just some of the improvements launched in this edition, but there are many more.
Undoubtedly, each new Shopify edition represents an advancement in technology, but above all, a commitment to improving the shopping experience and facilitating the deployment and growth of businesses.
